This policy explains what personal data Trust Pilot collects when you use this website and the Trust Pilot app, why we collect it, who we share it with and the rights you have. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

What we collect

Account details: your name, email address, phone number and country.
Case information: the property details and documents you upload, such as survey plans, title documents and receipts.
Payment information: the amount, currency and status of payments. Card details are handled by our payment provider and are not stored by us.
Messages: what you write in the case chat with the agency.
Technical data: basic device, browser and usage information needed to run and secure the service.

Why we use it

To carry out the verification you ask for, and to deliver your report and Seal.
To hold and release payments, and to issue refunds.
To keep a record of every action on your case, so the work is accountable.
To keep the service secure and prevent fraud.
To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

Who sees your documents

Only the surveying agency working on your case and our own reviewers. Files are stored securely, scanned before anyone opens them, and every access is logged. We do not sell your personal data.

We share data with service providers who help us run the service, such as hosting and payment processing, and only as far as they need it. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep case records and reports for as long as they may be needed to confirm a report, resolve a dispute or meet our legal obligations. After that they are deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted where the law allows, object to or restrict how we use it, or receive a copy of it. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
