Terms of Service
Last updated: 29 October 2026
These terms apply when you use this website or the Trust Pilot app. By opening a case, you agree to them.
What we do
Trust Pilot arranges for independent, vetted surveying agencies to check the property and land documents you provide, and reviews their findings before a report is issued. When the result is clean, the report carries a Seal.
What a report and Seal mean
A report sets out what was checked, against which records, and what was found. A Seal means that no discrepancies were found against the records consulted, as at the date of the report.
A report or Seal is not a guarantee of title, a legal opinion or insurance. It supports, and does not replace, land registries, the Surveyor-General's office or the advice of your own lawyer.
Your responsibilities
- Give accurate information and upload genuine copies of the documents you were given.
- Upload only documents you are entitled to share.
- Do not alter a report, or present it as covering anything it does not cover.
Agencies
Agencies are independent of Trust Pilot and of the sale. You see each agency's fee and delivery time before you choose. Delivery times are the agency's estimate.
Payment
You can pay in naira or US dollars. You see the full price, including fees, before you pay. The agency's fee is held and only released once the work is done and has passed our review. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
Report codes
Every report has a unique code, so it can be traced back to us. A report can be superseded by a newer version, and a Seal can expire or be revoked.
Liability
We take care to make sure every report is accurate as at its date. We are not responsible for records that were wrong or incomplete when they were consulted, for changes after the report date, or for decisions made without reading the report in full. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Nigerian law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Lagos State have jurisdiction.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version that applies to a case is the one in force when the case was opened.
